 HEAVEN & THE KINGDOM OF GOD [Pt 11]

As we continue to trace the Covenant of God in determining the authenticity and legitimacy of our worship, one thing remains consistent, which is that God is committed to fulfilling His promises, by upholding His Covenant. God made a Covenant with Noah and with his descendants.

Genesis 9:9

[9]“And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you,

This promise was upheld even after the death of Noah, when God chose a man called Abram, who was of the descendant of Shem, one of the son's of Noah. 

Genesis 12:1

[1]Now the Lord had said to Abram: “Get out of your country, From your family And from your father’s house, To a land that I will show you.

God's action to call Abram was not by accident neither was it by coincidence, it was intentional and a fulfilment of God's Covenant with Noah. In order to understand the Covenant upon Abram's life, it's important to highlight sections of that Covenant;

1. The bestowment of God's Convenant on Abram, which makes him the source through whom God's promises will come into effect on the earth [Genesis 17:4].

2. A change of Name to reflect the Convenant of God upon his life. [Genesis 17:5]

3. The promise of fruitfulness and exceeding greatness [Genesis 17:6]

4. The declaration of God, as His God and that of his descendants. Also the proclamation of an everlasting Convenant. [Genesis 17:7]

5. The declaration of a possession of land, in whom Abram was a stranger, as an everlasting possession [ Genesis 17:8]

6. The sign of the Convenant [Genesis 17:10-12]

7. The promise of the next in line who will continue God's expansionist agenda of this Convenant [Genesis 17:19, 21].

8. The promise of a SEED or an OFFSPRING who would come from the Convenant, and through Whom all Nations shall be blessed [Genesis 22:18].

The above highlighted points are the foundations upon which the Abrahamic Covenant seats upon, and we shall be looking at them one after the other, inorder to authenticate the consistency of the road map that leads to the true worship of God. 

THINGS TO NOTE:

1. God is faithful to uphold His Convenant.

2. It is the responsibility of man to accept God's Convenant, and align with it's provisions.

3. The Convenant of God runs through an established bloodline.
