MODULE 25 THE NEW TESTAMENT WAY TO DEAL WITH YOUR HUMAN ENEMIES BY OGHOGHOR IKPONMWOSA (PHD)



In this module we shall continue to look at what Apostle John said in re-echoing what Jesus said about LOVE.
 
1 John 5:1-5

1. Whosoever believeth that Jesus is the Christ is born of God: and every one that LOVETH him that begat LOVETH him also that is begotten of him.

2 By this we know that we LOVE the children of God, when we LOVE God, and keep his commandments.

3 For this is the LOVE of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

4 For whatsoever is born of God overcometh the world: and this is the victory that overcometh the world, even our faith.

5 Who is he that overcometh the world, but he that believeth that Jesus is the Son of God?KJV

In this scripture, Apostle John tells us that anyone who believes that Jesus is born of God will LOVE both God the Father and His Children (Jesus and us). He proceeded to tell us that we know that we LOVE the children of God when we LOVE God and keep His commandments.

He immediately equated keeping God’s commandment as the LOVE of God and that His commandments are not grievous. Putting the two statements he made together, we can see that as we LOVE God and His children we are keeping His commandments.

Remember that Jesus gave us LOVE as His commandment. Here again Apostle John is reminding us that to LOVE God and His children is to keep God’s commandments.
So that we are not left confused to erroneously think it is difficult to obey God’s commandment, he immediately told us that if we are born of God we will overcome or have victory over the world because of our faith in Jesus.

What does he mean by the world here? He earlier defined the world as the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life (1 John 2:15-17). If we are born of God and have faith in Jesus, we will naturally overcome or have victory over the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes and the pride of life.

Today, the world system has become very corrupted. People can do just anything to have more money, more fame, higher position, have more satisfaction of selfish desires, etc. The unfortunate thing is that many professing Christians are allowing themselves to become conformed to the system of this world such that they are doing what is not in line with the faith they profess.

If any believer is still struggling with or comfortable in sin, it is an indication that such a believer has not yet allowed the LOVE of God to dominate him or her. We easily compromise and fall into sin.

whenever we do not yield to the Holy Spirit to demonstrate God’s LOVE through us.
Sin should not have dominion over us in Christ Jesus. We cannot be dominated by the world and its system in Christ. Sickness and all kinds of satanic manipulations cannot overcome or dominate us in Christ.

I am so excited that being born of God and able to allow the LOVE of God to dominate us; we can naturally overcome the world and its corrupt system. Everyone around us may be doing that wrong thing but we can always choose to say NO because of the LOVE of God embedded in my heart.

Papa David Ibiyeomie through his foundation (DIF) renovates the house of Mama Priscilla Agwu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The newly renovated and furnished house was handed over to her on Friday 5th of April 2019.  David Ibiyeomie presently takes care of countless number of aged people with comfortable accommodation, monthly upkeep and medical assistance. This is outside the Home For the Elderly built, furnished by the Church and is also taking care of some aged people. While handing over this house to Mama Agwu, Her family, friends and neighbors all came together to celebrate with her and could not hide their joy and shock at what the Lord has done for their mother through Pastor David Ibiyeomie. THE OLD CONVENANT IS A SHADOW OF THE NEW CONVENANT [pt 4] - Min. Awe Hilary

It is an interesting fact to know that 99.99% of most religions practiced today are imitations of either the Mosaic law as given to the Jews by God or idolatry as invented by men through the interface of spiritual entities as a way of worship.
