A farmer sows a seed with the expectation that such seed would grow and bear good fruits. The value and usefulness of the seed lies with its potential to bear good fruits and multiply. The earth is the farmland of God, and He has sown us as seeds, not just to thrive but to produce good fruits. The fruits we bear is a reflection of our identity which can be traced to our source.
"Ye shall know them by their fruits" -MATHEW 7:16 (KJV)
The Holy Bible says in the book of Mathew 7:16, that by their fruits they shall be known, which can also be interpreted as - by their fruit we shall know their source. The source determines the outcome of the fruit because the fruit is a representation of the characteristic nature of the source. For instance, if a mango seed is sown by a farmer, its outcome by virtue of its fruit cannot be an orange fruit because it was a mango seed that was sown in the first place. The Holy Bible in the book of Mathew 7:17 establishes the fact that the source determines the outcome, by saying that good trees produces good fruits, while evil fruits are product of corrupt trees.
Fruits are visual indicators that label us into categories signifying who we are, what we represent, which can be derived from the source that feeds us. The source that feeds us influences the characteristic nature of the fruits we bear, therefore, if God is our source, the characteristic nature of God is embedded in our fruits which makes it good and acceptable to God. This cannot be said to be true if the scenario is reversed with satan being the source.
Good fruits are important to God because through it His true nature is revealed in the life of men which makes a clear statement and distinction between light and darkness. Fruits are demarcating lines between both divides (good and evil), which distinguishes one from the other, thereby creating no room for confusion and misconceptions to what each divide represents.
God expects us not just to produce any fruit, but good fruits, because through our fruits the reapers shall separate the the wheat from the weed. The Holy Bible in the book of Galatians 5:22-23 reveals to us the fruits of the spirit which is the good fruit, and as seeds carrying the image of God, it is only natural that our trees should be arrayed with these fruits as an evidence that our source (God) is in us and we in our source. This evidence protects our trees from the axe of death.
"Every tree that bringeth not forth good fruits is hewn down, and cast into the fire" -MATHEW 7:19 (KJV)
The fruits produced by each tree (good or bad) makes a clear distinction between each other by displaying boldly their characteristic features which guide the reapers in selecting those who are useful for the barn (the Kingdom of God) and those to be burned in the fire (hell) because their nature is alien and of no use to the barn (the Kingdom of God). There is no farmer who sows with an expectation to harvest weeds or thorns into his barn, the same way God is not interested in harvesting bad fruits into His Kingdom because His essence of sowing would have been defeated.
"Let both grow together until the harvest: and in the time of harvest I will say to the reapers, Gather ye together first the tares, and bind them in bundles to burn them: but gather the wheat into my barn" -MATHEW 13:30 (KJV)
The great harvest is coming, and it is the fruit you produce that would differentiate you as either a wheat worthy for the barn (Heaven) or a weed worthy for the fire (Hell).
However, I would implore you to take an introspection to determine what type of fruits you have been producing, because the fruits you produce is a revelation of your source - God or the devil.
