5. He is the Spirit of the Father. Matt 10:12

*His Characteristics*

The Spirit of God is a person as much as the Father and the Son are persons.

1. The Holy Spirit has a mind, Rom 8:27

2. The Holy Spirit has a will. 1 Corv12:11

3. The Holy Spirit prohibit. Acts 16:6-7

4. The Holy Spirit guides. Acts 16:10

5. The Holy Spirit speaks. Acts 8:29, 10:19, 13:2.

*His Functions*

The functions of the Holy Spirit are seen in:

1. The conception of Christ. Luke 1:35

2. Resurrection of Christ. Rom 8:11

3. The work of Salvation and Regeneration of souls John 3:8

4. Sanctification 1Pet 1:2

5. Guidance. Rom 8:14

6. Glorification. 2 Cor 3:18

7. The Holy Spirit teaches John 14:26

8. The Holy Spirit empowers believers 1 Cor12:4-11.

*CONCLUSION*

The Holy Spirit persuades the heart to come to Christ, regenerates souls and sanctifies each child of God. The Holy Spirit is Sovereign and has been at work Since He descended on the day of Pentecost. The Holy Spirit empowers the Church/believers with the baptism of the Holy Spirit and gives gifts of the Holy Spirit to believers as He wills.

It is an interesting fact to know that 99.99% of most religions practiced today are imitations of either the Mosaic law as given to the Jews by God or idolatry as invented by men through the interface of spiritual entities as a way of worship.
