Mike Bamiloye writes: "ISSUES OF TITHES AND TITHING...."

Mike Bamiloye is a well known drama evangelist, who is also the founder of the Mount Zion Faith Ministries International. He took to his Facebook page to defend why he pays tithes, which is in response to the recent controversies surrounding tithing, as many claim that payment of tithe ended in the era of Old Testament, while other believers are of the view that tithing is still relevant in the present day dispensation. 

This controversy is coming on the heels of the current trend of" larger than life" attitude being displayed by many pastors, as they flaunt their material possessions as a proof of God's blessings upon their lives. The attitude of some of these pastors, have triggered wide spread condemnation among many believers especially in Africa, going by the rising poverty index, as many african's live below the threshold of $1 per day.

One of the major crusaders against the payment of tithes by Christians in Nigeria, is an On Air Personality called Daddy freeze, who have lashed out on Pastors for collecting tithe, and have accused them for being responsible for the rising cases of poverty in Africa.

However, Mike Bamiloye justified the payment of tithes, as he wrote:

 “I am an Evangelist. I believe strongly in tithes and giving offerings as God commanded in Malachi 3:10. I have believed and practice this for more than 35 years. I pay tithes. My Ministry pays tithes.

Malachi 3:10-11 KJV

[10] Bring ye all the tithes into the storehouse, that there may be meat in mine house, and prove me now herewith, saith the Lord of hosts, if I will not open you the windows of heaven, and pour you out a blessing, that there shall not be room enough to receive it . 

[11] And I will rebuke the devourer for your sakes, and he shall not destroy the fruits of your ground; neither shall your vine cast her fruit before the time in the field, saith the Lord of hosts.

- God says He would Pour out Bishop Blessings upon me in abundance. 

- God says He would Rebuke the Devourers for My sake. 

- God says Devourers and Wasters shall not destroy the Fruits of My Labour neither shall the Fruits of my Efforts be Wasted.

THEREFORE, I BELIEVE THIS WORD OF GOD, LIKE I BELIEVED IN PSALM 23 AND 91 AS THE WORD OF GOD.

I even give far beyond tithes on many occasions, because I believe in

 2 Corinthians 9:6

"But this I say: He who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully."

“On many occasions, we had laid all we had on the Altar before God. On some Occasions, we had emptied our accounts and laid all before the Lord in obedience to His specific command and in appreciation of His goodness. AND WE SAW THE GREAT RESULTS! We believe heavily in Tithes and Offering, and also in the Biblical Principle of First Fruits.

I have seen marvellous Wonders of God at home and on evangelistic fields as I held on to the Biblical Doctrine of Tithes and Offerings, Sowing and Harvesting. I have been on this for more than 30 years in ministry. AND I CAN NEVER TURN BACK!

“I pay my tithes and I give my offerings as instructed by God. but it is never and can never be my business, whatever the tithes and offerings are used for. I have given the Tithes and Offerings to God and It is no longer in my care. It is God’s Business to determine if it is well used or not. Not Mine.

“Are you waiting for me to defend my Belief on Tithes from the Bible? What Do I need to defend again, when I saw it in the Bible, even if it is One Verse. I am not a Theologian, and I do not need many Verses from the Bible to know what to do. I am an Evangelist. So, do not wait for me to now begin to table before you an argumentative Bible Study.

“And it is God I have given my tithes and not Man or any pastor. I handed the Tithes to His Representatives/Servants who would use it as instructed. 

Therefore, I have no problem with any pastor or church the Lord leads me to pay my tithes. 

MY PROBLEM WITH TITHE IS...

I CAN'T STOP PAYING TITHES!

BUT I HAVE PROBLEM WITH PEOPLE WHO DON'T EVEN KNOW WHAT THEY BELIEVED AGAIN.
