Church, Champions League And Christ -Gbenga Samson

There is a time for everything and certainly an appropraite place for everything. This is also true as it relates to the House of God and the activities that pertaineth to it therein.

It has been on record that in recent times, some innapropriate activities have creeped into our Churches, and the latest stranger on the list is FOOTBALL.

Gbenga Samson in this article condemns the recent technique implored by some pastors in allowing the House of God to be degraded to a viewing centre inorder to attract football lovers to God.

When did the church become a viewing center?

I actually didn't want to lend my voice to this but I discovered the fact it seems to be catching like wildfire is enough reason to speak out. 
Seen 3 different churches doing the same thing. 

If I spoke against "tithe as the key to heaven's door"  I should not be silent about this. 

Is there anything wrong with watching football? NO!

But let's be real turning the church into a viewing center for a football match under the guise of winning souls is WRONG! 

Turning the church into a viewing center to attract people for our services is VERY WRONG. 

If they don't want to meet Christ they should stay away. 

The way the Church is going these days under the guise of winning souls we need to be very careful. We all justify these things as strategic planning and creative thinking but we all need to be very careful o.

Same way we justified secular artistes in Church
We justify comedians in church
We will justify making the church a viewing center for football matches
We will soon start showing secular movies in church sef...

When will enough be enough? 
When will we stop this infiltration of worldliness? 

We will say we are winning souls but which kind soul we dey win sef? 

This our science student approach of mixing different things together under the umbrella of Evangelistic Experimentation and Church GROWTH Startegy is uncalled for. 

The ones we have been doing before what has it yielded. People who mouth the Altar call but live an Alternate life! 

Using Worldly strategies cannot get people correctly hooked on God, Only The Word can do that effectively.

Planting seeds by the way side and on the rock can never get the right result, it may appear good for a while but this is how we end raising up false Brethren,  that live in deceit. 

We need to go back to lifting up Christ and Christ alone.  The Crazy things happening in churches these days make the Corinthians look like "Super Christians". 

We have a ministry of edification,  not entertainment. If entertainment comes in as a by product,  no problem.  But to focus on entertainment is wrong. 

God help us all... 

In case you think this is none of my business,  actually it is.  The church where I worship is doing the same thing. I already voiced my opinion to the church because I can't be loyal to my church and be disloyal to Christ. This thing is catching on like a virus and  we need to stamp it out. 

Though we are many we are one body and we must be accountable to one another. 

We all must seek First the kingdom of GOD and its righteousness always. 

We have been set free in Christ let us not entangle ourselves again. 

II Timothy 2:4
[4]No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.

Papa David Ibiyeomie through his foundation (DIF) renovates the house of Mama Priscilla Agwu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The newly renovated and furnished house was handed over to her on Friday 5th of April 2019.  David Ibiyeomie presently takes care of countless number of aged people with comfortable accommodation, monthly upkeep and medical assistance. This is outside the Home For the Elderly built, furnished by the Church and is also taking care of some aged people. While handing over this house to Mama Agwu, Her family, friends and neighbors all came together to celebrate with her and could not hide their joy and shock at what the Lord has done for their mother through Pastor David Ibiyeomie.
