BIBLE READING:
"The righteous cry, and the Lord heareth and delievereth them out of all their troubles" ~ PSALM 34:17
There are three questions I would like to ask you?
1. What is your case?
2.Who has the power to make a difference in your case?
3. Why should you celebrate?
WHAT IS YOUR CASE?
Life is filled with numerous events, and man is a partaker and beneficiary of these events, which might be good or bad, self imposed or circumstances which appear to be beyond our control.
There are four facts about any situation which might be confronting you at present, and they are :
1. Your case has an origin - It can be either from God or the devil.
2. Your case has a nature - It can either be good or bad.
3. Your case has a life span
4. Your case has a purpose - It can be either for upliftment or demotion.
The Holy Bible tells us in the book of Ecclesiastes 1:9, that there is nothing new under the sun. Whatever might be your case or situation, I would like you to know that you are not the first to have experienced it and neither will you be the last to experience it.
Moreover, it is very important at this juncture, that we take an introspection into the life of some Bible Characters with respect to the various challenges they faced back in the days, and how they were able to overcome them.
1. ABRAHAM AND SARAH:
Abraham was initially called Abram and he is the son of Terah. He married a wife called Sarah, who was initially called Sarai before the name change by God.
The Bible tells us in the book of Genesis 11:30, that Sarai was barren, for she had no child. Abraham was growing old with no child to call his heir, and at one time in a vision, the Lord came to him, and Abraham said to God, what will thou give me, seeing I go childless and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus!
Abraham and Sarah were confronted with a case of Childlessness.
2. JOSEPH:
Joseph was born into the family of Jacob, and they lived in the land of Canaan. Joseph was a young man greatly loved by his father, and God also showed him a dream of greatness and dominion (Genesis 37).
Moreover, Joseph told his dreams to his brothers, but instead of his brothers to celebrate with him, they sought for ways to terminate his dreams and visions. The brothers of Joseph eventually sold him into the hands of the Ishmaelites as a slave for 20 pieces of silver (Genesis 37:28).
However, the case of Joseph being betrayed did not end with his brothers, but also found its way into the house of Portiphar, where Portiphar's wife lied against him, because Joseph refused to have carnal Knowledge of her.
Joseph was confronted with the case of betrayals targeted at terminating his dream.
3. ESTHER AND MODECAI:
Esther was an orphan, but was being catered for by her uncle Modecai, who took her as his own child. The removal of queen vashti by King Alhaserus, after her refusal to come at the kings commandment by his chamberlains (Esther 1:12), led to the search of a new queen which later gave emergence to Esther becoming the new queen.
Modecai who sits at the Kings gate was hated by Haman, because Modecai refused to bow to him and give him reverence (Esther 3:2). This made Haman to conceive an evil plot aimed at eliminating the Jewish community (Esther 3:6), after being told that Modecai is a Jew.
Queen Esther and Modecai were confronted with a strong man who was determined to destroy their families and community.
PRAYER POINT:
Any strong man or personality attempting to wipe out every trace of your existence, shall be wasted in the name of Jesus Christ, amen.
4. SHADRACH, MESHACK AND ABNEGO:
There was a certain King called Nebuchadnezer, who was the king of Babylon at that time. He besieged Jerusalem, and the Lord delivered Jehiokim, King of Judah into his hands.
King Nubuchadnezer created an image of Gold, and he commanded all to fall down in worship to this image when they hear the sound of the cornet, flute, harp, saxkbut, psaltery, dulcimer and all kinds of music. He commanded that anyone who fails to worship the image will be cast into a burning furnace.
The Jewish men, shadrach, meshack and abnego, refused to worship the golden image and they were reported to the King. The implication of their refusal was tantamount to death through a very horific means.
Shadrack, meshack and abnego where confronted with a life threatning case because they refused to compromise God's standard by worshiping Idols.
5. JESUS CHRIST:
Jesus Christ who was born into this world through the conception of the Holy Spirit, brought with Him a unique message of hope to a hopeless generation, to save mankind from eternal destruction.
He was falsely accused severally, betrayed by his own disciple, beaten, publicly humiliated and nailed to the cross.
WHO HAS THE POWER TO MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN YOUR CASE?
A relationship with God makes all the difference, and gives you the desired victory over any circumstance or situation.
What do I mean by having a relationship with God?
1. Believing in God to make possible what seems to be impossible in your life.
2. Obeying His words and applying it to your life.
3. Ruling out every other alternative except God.
Abraham and Sarah had a relationship with God. The Bible tells in the book of Genesis 15:6, that Abraham believed in the Lord, and that it was counted unto him as righteousness.
It is practically impossible for a 90 year old woman to give birth to a child, but God made it possible, because He is the one that makes impossibility possible.
A relationship with God brings about the fulfillment of Gods promise in the life of an individual.
Joseph battled with the case of betrayal from his brothers which landed him into slavery, and his masters wife which took him into prison, but in all Joseph maintained his relationship with God. In the book of Genesis 39:9, Joseph told Portiphars wife while being confronted with an unholy advance from her, that "How then could I do such a wicked thing and sin against God".
His relationship with God gave him access to Godly revelation that took him out of prison, and made him a ruler in a strange land (Genesis 41:38 - 42).
A relationship with God gives you access to the secret things of God, thereby making you a problem solver in your generation.
Shedrack, Meshack and Abnego where thrown into the fire, but God delivered them from the burning furnace. Having a relationship with God exposes the realness and faithfulness of God. There are alot of people who know that a God does exist, yet God is not real to them because they have no relationship with him.
A relationship with God gives you an escape route through every death threatening circumstance or situation
In the book of John 8:29, Jesus Christ declared by saying " The one who sent me is with me, He has not left me alone, for I always do what pleases Him". Also in the book of Luke 2:49, Jesus Christ said " I must be about my Fathers business"
Having a relationship with God gives you the grace to enjoy divine presence and engaging in activities that please God. Jesus Christ was not limited by death, but defeated death through the cross, and He is sitting at the right hand of his Father (Romans 8:34).
A relationship with God gives you grace to enjoy divine presence and access to the kingdom of God through Jesus Christ.
WHY SHOULD YOU CELEBRATE?
The Bible tells us in the book of PSALM 34:17, that the righteous cry, and the Lord heareth, and delivered them out of all their troubles.
God is attentive to our plight, hence He has delivered us and still delivering us from all our troubles. His deliverance transmits us into an atmosphere of praise, worship and celebration. We will celebrate because God has given us victory through our Lord Jesus Christ over every circumstance that might be confronting us.
REMEMBER THAT:
Abraham and Sarah were childless but God gave them a covenant child.
Joseph who became a slave and a prisoner, though not by his making, became a ruler in a foreign land.
Esther and Modecai who were confronted by Haman, defeated him, by seeking the Lord.
Shedrack, Meshack and Abnego were thrown into the fire, but came out unhurt. God delivered them from the burning furnace.
Jesus Christ dies for us on the cross, through Him we are assured of eternal Life.
However, let us give thanks to God with our whole heart and shew forth his marvelous works ~ PSALM 9:1
God Bless you.
