The poverty of Jesus Christ even though He was rich, led to the riches of the believer in Him. If this is true as stated, how does a believer who believes in Jesus Christ fit into or function in these riches which Christ paid for through His poverty?
2 Corinthians 8:9 [AMP]:
For you are recognizing [more clearly] the grace of our Lord Jesus Christ [His astonishing kindness, His generosity, His gracious favor], that though He was rich, yet for your sake He became poor, so that by His poverty you might become rich (abundantly blessed).
Jesus Christ died not only to give us salvation but to bring us into the realization of God's purpose for our lives, as son's and daughters who are committed in diligently executing His will on the earth.
John 1:12 [AMP]:
But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the right [the authority, the privilege] to become children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—
Man is created for God's purpose and pleasure, hence every man is on an assignment. The riches that Jesus Christ paid for through His poverty is to take us back to that purpose which is the very reason for our creation and existence.
Jeremiah 1:5 [AMP]:
Before I formed thee in the belly I knew thee, and before thou camest forth out of the womb I sanctified thee; I have appointed thee a prophet unto the nations.
Prophet Jeremiah was already a prophet before he was born, and that was God's purpose and assignment for him, so is everyone one of us, we were already completed by God before our arrival to serve a purpose or an assignment on the earth temporarily.
The riches of a believer in Christ is in the awareness and value of God's purpose in his or her life, not in money, and this was why Dr. Myles Monroe of blessed memory stated that the richest places on earth is in the grave yards of the world. This is because it contains virtues, giftings and purpose that were never fulfilled or in some cases they were wasted.
More also, the riches of a believer is not in how much money he or she made on the earth, but how profitable God's purpose in his or her life through Jesus Christ is realized in good works which God ordained before his or her arrival on the earth.
Ephesians 2:10 [AMP]:
For we are His workmanship [His own master work, a work of art], created in Christ Jesus [reborn from above—spiritually transformed, renewed, ready to be used] for good works, which God prepared [for us] beforehand [taking paths which He set], so that we would walk in them [living the good life which He prearranged and made ready for us].
Smith Wigglesworth was a plumber, who had issues with his wife attending church meetings, and in one occasion as recorded, he locked her out, but right there was a man who was heavily anointed but was unaware, till he came to the knowledge of Christ, and his true purpose and potentials were reavled. Today, even after his death, he is remembered as the Apostle of faith and not a plumber.
Also, the likes of Reverend Kesiena Esiri and Pastor Biodun Fatoyibo who are being used by God mightily today, were once cultists. Can you imagine how much of God's riches and investment in their lives would have been wasted if they did not find Jesus Christ?
Do you know how much of God's riches you are wasting daily because of the absence of Jesus Christ in your life? Or your ignorance of Him as you live dangerously in sin, even when you have great deposits in your life by God?
