DOES A BELIEVER IN CHRIST NEED DELIVERANCE AFTER SALVATION? Pt [3]
- Min. Awe Hilary
The redemption of a believer is not just restrained to the deliverance of a believer from bondage back into a state of freedom, it also entails restoring him or her back to his or her original identity as envisioned by God from the foundations of creation, and restoring all rights and privileges due him as a free man or woman in Jesus Christ.
Acts 13:37-39
[37]but He whom God raised up saw no corruption.
[38]Therefore let it be known to you, brethren, that through this Man is preached to you the forgiveness of sins;
[39]and by Him everyone who believes is justified from all things from which you could not be justified by the law of Moses.
The believers freedom is not just given as a free gift from God, but it is also preserved, that those who have been redeemed may work in the light of their redemption.
Romans 8:1-2
[1]There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who do not walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit.
[2]For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has made me free from the law of sin and death.
The Preservation of the believer is the protection of the integrity of the process of redemption by God through Christ, thereby making it impossible to be reversed or revoked, that the redeemed may not see corruption after they have been redeemed, provided that they remain in Christ, through whom they were redeemed.
Proverbs 30:5
[5]Every word of God is pure; He is a shield to those who put their trust in Him.
Moreover, if God preserves the believer who is in Christ, how does He do it?
1. Assurance of Salvation and eternal life.
2. Assurance of no guilty charge or records of sin.
3. The revelation of Christ (light).
4. The help of God through His strength.
5. Taking refuge in Him (protection).
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. The redemption of a believer is a free gift of God, and the preservation of the believer is at the expense of God.
2. The redeemed believer is free, and his preservation in God is assured through faith in Jesus Christ.
... TO BE CONTINUED.
