Salvation will not be complete if restoration is not in place. The ministry of Satan was not just to position mankind for a tragic end, but to deprive him of his rights and privileges in God.
John 10:10 [AMP]:
The thief comes only in order to steal and kill and destroy. I came that they may have life, and have it in abundance [to the full, till it overflows].
Restoration is returning man back to his original position in God through Jesus Christ, and enforcing all rights and privileges which were formerly lost through the first Adam, which led to the introduction of sin and death to all mankind.
ACTS 3:19 [AMP]
So repent [change your inner self—your old way of thinking, regret past sins] and return [to God—seek His purpose for your life], so that your sins may be wiped away [blotted out, completely erased], so that times of refreshing may come from the presence of the Lord [restoring you like a cool wind on a hot day];
ACTS 3:20 [AMP]:
and that He may send [to you] Jesus, the Christ, who has been appointed for you,
ACTS 3:21 [AMP]:
whom heaven must keep until the time for the [complete] restoration of all things about which God promised through the mouth of His holy prophets from ancient time.
A restored believer in Christ, is one who functions from the original standpoint of his or her creation in God through Christ, which encompasses God's nature, plan, purpose, will, and actions, for which the believer in Christ was created in the first place, to please his or her maker and do His biddings.
2 Corinthians 5:9 [AMP]:
Therefore, whether we are at home [on earth] or away from home [and with Him], it is our [constant] ambition to be pleasing to Him.
HOW DID GOD RESTORE THE BELIEVER?
1. The Word is the source of all creation. When the first Adam sinned through disobedience, he fell out of alignment with the Word, and the Word was made flesh, who is Jesus Christ, that through Him, mankind be reunited with His maker, and all things which were in the Word which could not be assessed by him as a result of sin, becomes available through Jesus Christ and in Christ alone [ Colossians 1:16].
2. The restoration of Eden, where man dwelt in the presence of God, significant of a strong bond and relationship through the Word in whom lies the Spirit of God. Eden represents the presence of God where the first Adam enjoyed the fullness of Joy in God before the fall, and we who have been redeemed and restored through Christ, are continually stayed in the presence of God [Psalm 16:11].
WHAT DOES RESTORATION DO TO THE BELIEVER?
1. Restoration confirms a change of identity and mentality of the believer [ 2 Corinthians 3:18].
2. A believer who understands that he has been restored to his original position in God, lives a life that is God centred and kingdom minded, because he has been renewed and justified by God through Christ [Romans 14:8].
3. Restoration is not an attainment unto holiness, but functioning from the standpoint of holiness in God through Christ, in establishing the kingdom of God in the earth [Galatians 2:20].
4. The kingdom of God is meant for a royal priesthood who seats with the Master on the table, hence the restored believer must operate in royalty, abiding in the Lord with dignity and honour, abhoring the ways of the flesh [1 Peter 2:9].
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. The restored believer is not trying to be renewed, he or she has been renewed through Christ.
2. The restored believer operates from a position of holiness and not trying to attain holiness.
