DOES A BELIEVER IN CHRIST NEED DELIVERANCE AFTER SALVATION? Pt [6]
- Min. Awe Hilary
In this concluding part of this series, it is important to state that the believer in Jesus Christ has been delivered by God. This does not in anyway rule out future threats or opposition by Satan and his agents, but gives the believer the positional victory and advantage to contend with such threats.
1 Corinthians 15:57 [[AMP]:
but thanks be to God, who gives us the victory [as conquerors] through our Lord Jesus Christ.
The believer in Christ is not trying to create anything new, but rather drawing from the well of what has been established by God through Jesus Christ. The awareness and mastery of what Jesus Christ did on the cross in regards to his or her life, facilitates the much desired victory that has been won in his or her life.
Ephesians 1:4 [AMP]:
just as [in His love] He chose us in Christ [actually selected us for Himself as His own] before the foundation of the world, so that we would be holy [that is, consecrated, set apart for Him, purpose-driven] and blameless in His sight. In love
This means that the victory of the believer is already established and the battle has been won, but the believer through the revelation of Christ showcases the evidence of that victory when confronted with a situation. He or she is no longer striving to win, but showcasing the legality of his or her victory through the cross, in which he or she has been declared as a conqueror.
For instance, if the believer is sick in the flesh, he or she draws from the well of healing which has been established through Jesus Christ. The believer is not trying to create his or her healing, but to establish his or her healing by making reference to the undeniable evidence of healing that has been established on the cross.
Isaiah 53:5 [AMP]:
But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was crushed for our wickedness [our sin, our injustice, our wrongdoing]; The punishment [required] for our well-being fell on Him, And by His stripes (wounds) we are healed.
The scripture above in Isaiah 53:5 does not say that we are being healed, but rather gives a fixed and permanent verdict.
More also, if there are evidence of demonic oppression or activities in the life of a believer, which presents a misrepresentation of what Christ has done on the cross, as we can see today in the life of some believers, it hereby becomes imperative for such a believer to enforce his rights and privileges in Christ, through faith.
Luke 10:19 [AMP]:
Listen carefully: I have given you authority [that you now possess] to tread on serpents and scorpions, and [the ability to exercise authority] over all the power of the enemy (Satan); and nothing will [in any way] harm you.
Furthermore, it is also important to note that a demon cannot take possesion of a believer in Christ, because in him or her lies the Spirit of God. A believer is one with God in Spirit.
However, every believer should operate from the standpoint and knowledge of his or her deliverance in Christ, by showcasing and expressing the legality of his or her deliverance which was purchased at the Cross through faith.
John 8:32 [AMP]:
And you will know the truth [regarding salvation], and the truth will set you free [from the penalty of sin].”
The devil is a legal expert, and the believer in Christ should approach him in the courts of the Spirit with the legality of what Christ has done on the Cross, and how through Christ actions they became bonafide candidates of freedom from every negative situation, and above condemnation.
HOW CAN THESE BE ACHIEVED?
1. Absolute dependency on God through submission to Jesus Christ, because He never fails.
2. Corporate and personal study of the Word with the aim of unravelling your rights and privileges with Christ. The more of Christ you know, the greater your awareness becomes with respect to your rights and privileges, and the more victorious you become.
3. Obedience to the Word of God, in deeds and actions.
4. Consistent communication with God through prayers and fasting, with the aim of being in the revelation of His will and purpose for the life of the believer.
5. Do not open the door you have previously shut against the devil through dead works, because in such instance, you have submitted your authority and given the devil the legal grounds to operate.
6. Do not forsake the assembly of the brethren, and ensure you are properly pastored in the knowledge of Christ and in sound doctrine. The Word of God is the sustainer of Christ's victory in the life of a believer.
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. There is no new revelation anywhere, and there are no two ways to serving God, for those who serve Him must do so in Spirit. The calling of a believer, is a call unto spirituality.
2. The Father's love is Christ, Jesus Christ is the assurance of our salvation, and the Holy Spirit is our teacher and the seal of our sonship with God.
Blessings.
