THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS [Pt 2]

- Awe Hilary

The replicative nature of sin to all mankind was in the infact that the first Adam, was reproducing the image and likeness of sin through the flesh. The image of sin is death, and the likeness of sin, are the works of the flesh which is representative of death.

Death became a debt for all mankind to pay, because of the nature of sin, and all the workings and dealings of man, all led to the payment of that debt, which is death. This implies that mankind was a labourer to sin, and the more he worked in the nature of sin, he died.

Romans 6:23

[23]For the wages of sin is death, but the gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord.

It was an obligation to every human, because the first Adam, sold mankind to the nature of sin.

Romans 4:4

[4]Now to him who works, the wages are not counted as grace but as debt.

In essence, as mankind multiplied through the flesh, death and the works of the flesh multiplied, hence death came upon mankind, because all became fashioned in the image and likeness of sin, hence all sinned.

Romans 5:12

[12]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—

The implication of this, is that mankind fell below the standard of the Word through Whom he was created, of Whom lies the nature of God, Who is the glory of God.

Hebrews 1:3

[3]who being the brightness of His glory and the express image of His person, and upholding all things by the word of His power, when He had by Himself purged our sins, sat down at the right hand of the Majesty on high,

In essence, mankind became defective in image and likeness in relation to God, because he bore a new nature that was alien to the nature of God. What this implies is that, no matter the level of your self appraisal in relation to your good works or deeds with respect to morality, you are still defective in likeness.

This is because the image is representative of a source through which it's likeness or expressions are judged. If the source leads to death, then all it's expressions are dead.

1 Corinthians 15:56

[56]The sting of death is sin, and the strength of sin is the law.

THINGS TO NOTE:

1. Sin is a debt, which was inherent in the first Adam.

2. The transmission of the nature of sin, was not by works, it was received via the first Adam.

3. The nature of sin cannot be removed by works, because the source determines the outcome.
