THINGS OF THE SPIRIT REMAINS WITH THE SPIRITUAL

Logic is foolish in the school of spirituality, and spirituality is foolishness to the worshipers of logic. The Heavens and the Earth in the book of Genesis 1:1, were not created by logic, lest the atheists become wise men, and the Holy Bible is not a textbook, lest we ignore the help of the Holy Spirit in understanding the scriptures.

The foolishness of God is wiser than human wisdom, and the weakness of God is stronger than human strength (1 Corinthians 1:25), lest man becomes God and ignores his Maker.

The message of the cross is foolishness to those who are headed for destruction, but we who are being saved, know it is the very power of God (1 Corinthians 1:18),lest salvation be given another name, and its true essence commonized.

One of the greatest problems of the Church, especially in this generation, is not an absence of prayer, but lack of spiritual intelligence, which I refer to as the worst form of ignorance.

Man is a product of spirituality, because the first man created by God, was made from the dust of the ground, and the breath of life was breathed into his nostrils, and he became a living being. The above descriptions of the sequence that took place in the creation of man, will be termed logically incorrect by the worshipers of logic because, it defies every scientific principle and existing laws of evolution.

Few weeks ago, the internet community was thrown into a state of hysteria as a result of the prophecies attributed to some notable men of God, particularly in Nigeria with regards to the outcome of the presidential election of the United State of America. Many took to the social media in a hurry, especially Christians to chastise the men of God with various unsolicited comments and remarks, with some taking the “seat of God” as judge, and labeling these men of God as “fake prophets” and “god of men”. The most disturbing part of it all, was that Christians were at the fore front of this charade, with the help of some pastors who may have felt a sense of insecurity or an inferiority complex issue as a result of the huge prophetic deposits on these notable prophets.

The atmosphere in the social media cycle was so intense and engaging, that I decided to lend my voice to the trending discuss, by writing an article titled “When prophecy fails” but what happened to me, was absolutely amazing. After writing a considerable amount of words in my new article, I suddenly stopped writing without any reasonable excuse, and abandoned the article till date. Then came my wife asking me, if I was done writing, but to her greatest surprise, I answered in the negative, with no understanding to why I abandoned the article.

On the 15th of November, 2016, I was privileged to attend an apostolic invasion convention, which was organized by the Shepherds House Assembly international, and one of my father’s in the Lord , in the person of apostle Johnson Suleman was ministering that night. During his ministration, I got a clear picture why that article never scaled through.

I would like to use this opportunity to ask every Christian, especially those who were shouting “crucify the prophets! Crucify the prophets!!!” these questions:

1.       As a Christian, did you pray asking the Holy Spirit to give you wisdom with regards the said issue, or you were moved by popular opinion?

2.       Did you ask the Holy Spirit to give you a spiritual insight and full understanding on the workings of the prophetic gift and ministry?

3.       Do you know what is called prophetic monitoring?

4.       Do you know that a prophetic utterance can be reversed on the altar of prayer?

5.       Do you know that God has the prerogative to change His mind at anytime without committing sin?

These are few, but inexhaustible questions we should ask ourselves as Christians before we prejudge an issue on the basis of sentiment and unholy emotions. If I were to deal with these questions, then this article would be transformed into a book.

Christianity is not logical, but purely spiritual, otherwise we would have called Jesus Christ a liar for telling us in the book of John 14:2, that He goes to prepare a place for us, which is not seen by us, but clearly in existence.
God bless you all, in Jesus Name, Amen.

  1. This article is just right on time. I believe that as Christians, we should always ask the Holy Spirit to give us wisdom and understanding. It is never wise to rush into conclusions or be rash in making statements especially about our fellow Christians or men of God. May God help us all. God bless you!
