In Genesis 1:27, the Bible tells us - God created man in His own image, in
the image of God created He him; male and female created He them.
Psalms
82:6 further confirms that- ye are gods; and all of you are children of the
most high.
2 Peter 1:3-4 then goes on to say- according as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of Him that hath called us to glory and virtue. Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

Take a moment to reflect on these Bible passages. We are gods, because we
are created in the image of God and have everything we need to live in this
godliness. A baby goat behaves like a goat; a chick grows into a chicken, moves
about freely and sometimes climbs on walls or slightly high places; an eagle
soars high up in the sky, is very strong and unique. Now the goat is not
expected to behave like the chicken, neither is the eagle or any other animal.
Even though, we are not like animals, but almost the same rule applies here. We
are gods and are not expected to be anything or anyone else.
God is not overly impressed when; we read His word, fast and pray, are nice
to people around us, live a holy life, or even achieve our purposes in life
according to his perfect will. That is what He expects of us. We are not doing
God a favor because it is actually suppose to be our natural way of life as
gods. Praise the Lord!
However the devil, the flesh, and our desires to conform to this world
always interferes. In Romans 12:2 we are encouraged- I beseech you
therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living
sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service. And be
not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your
mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of
God. I believe that on our own, we can't do this, we need the help of God
through the Holy Spirit.
The book of Romans 8:1-39 talks about how life in the
flesh cannot please God (take time now to read Romans 8). Verse 11 says - but
if the Spirit of Him that raised up Jesus from the dead dwells in you, He that
raised up Christ from the dead shall also quicken your mortal bodies by His
Spirit that dwelleth in you.
It is therefore imperative that we constantly ask for the help of the Holy
Spirit. I realize that I am also human, and so daily I ask the Holy
Spirit to help me live in the image of God that I was created to be. I pray
like in Psalms 119:133 order my steps in thy word: and let not any iniquity
have dominion over me.
May God help us to serve Him in Spirit and truth, to live in our nature like
children of the most high, and ultimately to make heaven, Amen. God bless you.
