LESSON FROM A BIBLICAL ROMAN CENTURION
"And when Jesus was entered into Capernaum, there came unto him a centurion, beseeching him,
6) And saying, Lord, my servant lieth at home sick of the palsy, grievously tormented.
7) And Jesus saith unto him, I will come and heal him." (Matthew 8:5 - 7)
"Masters, give unto your servants that which is just and equal; knowing that ye also have a Master in heaven." (Colossians 4:1)
The Bible is clear on how to treat our servants.
Simply put, a just approach and equal opportunity.
The centurion in the Bible verses above showed an example of a true master who loved his servants.
Though an unbeliever, he demonstrated true and loving attitude towards his sick servant and Jesus healed him.
Sir/Ma, how do you treat your servants?
How do you treat people staying in your house?
If we have truly surrendered our lives to Jesus Christ, it will definitely show in our relationship with others including our servants.
Being a servant doesn't make him/her less human. Show compassion!
We kicked against slave trade with perfect hatred but we are now practicing modern day slavery under our noses. Why?
Show a bit of compassion and love to all men including the servants.
God hates all forms of inhumanity and slavery.
May the Lord deliver the helpless servants under many slave masters/mistresses in Jesus name.
