 THE FRUIT OF THE SPIRIT [Pt 1]

A tree is easily recognizable by the fruits it bears, hence when a farmer or an individual comes in contact with a mango 🥭 tree for instance or a paw paw tree, the fruits give the tree 🌲 it's definition. In thesame vain, the word fruit which is derived from the greek word KARPOS is used to define the character or nature of the Holy Spirit.

The Holy Spirit is a personality [ the third person in the Godhead] Who has character traits that are described as fruit of the Spirit which is stated in the book of Galatians 5:22 -23;

Galatians 5:22 [NIV]:

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness,

Galatians 5:23 [NIV]:

gentleness and self-control. Against such things there is no law.

These character traits listed above are exclusive to the Holy Spirit and only Him can work in it's perfection because it's natural to Him.

However, an individual can manifest the fruit of the Holy Spirit only when he or she is in Jesus Christ, which is the first condition. The Holy Spirit does not come first in the life of an individual, but the Word Who was made in the order of the flesh, Who is Jesus Christ.

John 14:26 [NIV]:

But the Advocate, the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, will teach you all things and will remind you of everything I have said to you.

Christ in the life of a believer gives him or her access to the Holy Spirit, Who seeks to express Himself with the evidence of His fruit [ The fruits of the Spirit], which is a revelation of the nature and personality of Jesus Christ. These character traits are indicative and evident that such an individual has received the Spirit of adoption.

Romans 8:15 [NIV]:

The Spirit you received does not make you slaves, so that you live in fear again; rather, the Spirit you received brought about your adoption to sonship. And by him we cry, “Abba, Father.”

Moreover, there are many believers today who struggle to manifest these traits effortlessly because they attempt to do it by their works and not through grace. It is worthy to note that the fruit of the Spirit is a character trait of a Personality [the Holy Spirit] which is different from the traits you operated in when sin ruled you through the flesh before your rebirth. These are called the works of the flesh which are;

Galatians 5:19 [NIV]:

The acts of the flesh are obvious: sexual immorality, impurity and debauchery;

Galatians 5:20 [NIV]:

idolatry and witchcraft; hatred, discord, jealousy, fits of rage, selfish ambition, dissensions, factions

Galatians 5:21 [NIV]:

and envy; drunkenness, orgies, and the like. I warn you, as I did before, that those who live like this will not inherit the kingdom of God.

However, the Spirit of adoption was received through grace, because He is a gift given to us by God through Jesus Christ, and we must approach the manifestations of the fruit of the Holy Spirit in thesame light, that we may become true ambassadors of God through Jesus Christ.

THE OLD CONVENANT IS A SHADOW OF THE NEW CONVENANT [pt 4] - Min. Awe Hilary

It is an interesting fact to know that 99.99% of most religions practiced today are imitations of either the Mosaic law as given to the Jews by God or idolatry as invented by men through the interface of spiritual entities as a way of worship. Idol worship and the Mosaic law are the oldest well known religious institutions that have existed on the earth. The Mosaic law which is the Old Convenant is a shadow of the New Convenant which could not come into effect as long as the law was still in place. Hebrews 9:8 [AMP]: By this the Holy Spirit signifies that the way into the Holy Place [the true Holy of Holies and the presence of God] has not yet been disclosed as long as the first or outer tabernacle is still standing [that is, as long as the Levitical system of worship remains a recognized institution]. Papa David Ibiyeomie through his foundation (DIF) renovates the house of Mama Priscilla Agwu in Port Harcourt, Rivers State, Nigeria. The newly renovated and furnished house was handed over to her on Friday 5th of April 2019.  David Ibiyeomie presently takes care of countless number of aged people with comfortable accommodation, monthly upkeep and medical assistance. This is outside the Home For the Elderly built, furnished by the Church and is also taking care of some aged people. While handing over this house to Mama Agwu, Her family, friends and neighbors all came together to celebrate with her and could not hide their joy and shock at what the Lord has done for their mother through Pastor David Ibiyeomie.
