Part 4 takes a step by step breakdown in dealing with the intricacies of what God did for mankind through Jesus Christ. A careful read will expound your knowledge, giving you a deeper insight of how much God loves mankind by revealing His Son to us.
John 3:16
[16]For God so loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son, that whoever believes in Him should not perish but have everlasting life.
The love of God is the revelation of Jesus Christ, Who came to do the following in the life of mankind;
1. Reconciliation with God:
Mankind was in enmity with God because the nature of the first Adam after the fall was no longer in consonance with the nature of God. This led to a mix match of nature where you have a holy and righteouss God, with a sinful and an unrighteous man.
Romans 5:12
[12]Therefore, just as through one man sin entered the world, and death through sin, and thus death spread to all men, because all sinned—
The original nature of the first Adam who was created in thesame nature with God became polluted because of the introduction of sin. God has no sin in Him, hence cannot be in union with sin or unrighteousness.
2 Corinthians 5:18
[18]Now all things are of God, who has reconciled us to Himself through Jesus Christ, and has given us the ministry of reconciliation.
Sin was a bridge and a barrier between man and God, hence for the reconciliation between God and mankind to take place, sin had to be taken away from the equation. Jesus Christ became a replacement for the sin in the life of mankind by becoming sin, that through Him mankind would receive the life of God through the blood of Jesus Christ. The life of God is in right standing with God, hence we received the righteousness of God in Him.
2 Corinthians 5:21
[21]For He made Him who knew no sin to be sin for us, that we might become the righteousness of God in Him.
2. The pardon of sin:
There is no pardon of sin without blood, because blood contains life. The life of an animal is in the blood, so also the life of a human being or a living soul.
Leviticus 17:11
[11]For the life of the flesh is in the blood, and I have given it to you upon the altar to make atonement for your souls; for it is the blood that makes atonement for the soul.’
In the era of the law, when bulls or goats were offered on the altar, the life of those animals which were in their blood was used as an atoment for the sins of men [life for life], but it was not sufficient to blot out sin completely, because there was no perfection in the animals, hence the repetitiveness of the sacrifice.
Hebrews 9:13
[13]For if the blood of bulls and goats and the ashes of a heifer, sprinkling the unclean, sanctifies for the purifying of the flesh,
Hebrews 9:14
[14]how much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered Himself without spot to God, cleanse your conscience from dead works to serve the living God?
Jesus Christ was without sin, for He is the perfection of God, and the visual imagery of God the Father.
John 14:9
[9]Jesus said to him, “Have I been with you so long, and yet you have not known Me, Philip? He who has seen Me has seen the Father; so how can you say, ‘Show us the Father’?
He has in Him the life of God, and this life was made available to all men who believe by faith when His blood was spilled on the cross. The spilling of His blood on the cross released the life of God which was in His blood, making it available to all. He became a propitiation for our sins, offering a one time sacrifice because in Him is the perfection of God.
1 John 2:2
[2]And He Himself is the propitiation for our sins, and not for ours only but also for the whole world.
This is why there is no forgiveness of sin without the blood of Jesus Christ, hence anyone who is not washed by His blood, has no part with God, because His life is not in you.
John 6:53
[53]Then Jesus said to them, “Most assuredly, I say to you, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink His blood, you have no life in you.
On the cross of Calvary, sin was exchanged with the life of God through the blood of Jesus Christ, and that was the pardon. So if sin is taken away, there is newness because the life of God fills into the gap of sin which acted as a barrier, hence such a person is renewed with the identity of Christ through Whom the life of God is received.
2 Corinthians 5:17
[17]Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new.
