MESSAGE TOPIC: CELEBRATING THE HELP OF GOD

SERVICE OBJECTIVE(S):

1. Understanding what the help of God does for His people

2. Understanding the way into God’s help

One of the greatest assets of mortal man is the help of God 

SCRIPTURAL EXAMPLES OF THOSE HELPED BY GOD:

1. King David (Ps. 89:19)

2. Paul the apostle (Acts 26:22)

There are self-made man and there are help-made men; self-made men are limited, but help-made men are limitless

WHAT IS IN THE HELP OF GOD?

1. The help of God is the strength of man; it supplies strength to man (Ps. 89:19, 21)

When God helps you people look at you as a strong man not knowing that it is the strength of God

The help of God helps us not to give way, give in, give out or give up under pressure

2. The help of God shields man from the wrath, vengeance and attacks of the enemies and sons of wickedness (Ps. 89:22; 40:13; 70:5)

If not for the help of God, there are witches that would have eaten some people up since

3. The help of God facilitates the beating down of enemies before our face and the plaguing of them that hate us (Ps. 89:23; 2 Chron. 14:9-13; 32:8, 21-22)

God helps us to see the defeat and judgment of the enemy

The help of God makes us to see victory in battle 

4. The help of God gives us influence over territories and multitudes (Ps. 89:25)

5. The help of God is our stability and confidence in the midst of turmoil, shakings and uncertainty (Ps. 46:1-3; Heb. 13:5-6) 

The help of God helps us to master fear

When the help of God is with you, you are on top and in charge of fear

6. The help of God causes us to survive danger and hazards (1 Chron. 15:26) 

What others attempted and did not survive, we attempt it and survive by the help of God 

7. The help of God is the secret of continuity, consistency and durability in our lives (Acts 26:22; Rom. 9:16; Ps. 3:5).

Those who start are many but those who finish are few; it takes the help of God to continue to be a Christian 

It takes the help of God to continue to serve God on fire

It takes the help of God to continue to win souls

It takes the help of God to continue to do the things you need to do

It takes the help of God to continue to succeed in your endeavour

It takes the help of God to be on commanding the day consistently for 800 days

It takes the help of God to continue to be alive

8. The help of God is our shield from enemy arrows that target our fall (Ps. 118:13)

If not for the help of God some would have been on the floor or in the pit since

9. The help of God delivers us from enemy traps and snares (Ps. 124:1-8)

10. The help of God connects us with the grace of God and grace is the secret of ease (Heb. 4:16)

11. The help of God is our deliverance from shame and reproach (Isa. 50:7-9) 

12. The help of God is the secret of a majestic ride in life (Deut. 33:26)

WHAT IS THE WAY OF GOD’S HELP?

1. Discern your need for God’s help (Heb. 4:16)

2. Proceed to the throne of Grace at the place of prayer (Heb. 4:14; Ps. 121:1)

3. Be a defender of the cause of God in the earth (Ps. 89:19)

4. Be committed to the assignment of soul-winning (Acts 26:22) 

5. Be appreciative of the previous help of God in your life (1 Sam. 17:34-36)

6. Never become too big or too mighty for the help of God (Ps. 89:19; John 15:5; 2 Sam. 1:19-21, 25, 27)

6a. There are things that the might of the mighty cannot do for them (John 15:5)

6b. The mighty can crash without the help of God (2 Sam. 1:19-21, 25, 27)

7. Maintain the climate of praise – praise provokes His help (Ps. 42:5)

PRAYERS

1.Father, thank You for Your goodness and mercies, and for helping our journey through the year until this last week of the year. Be glorified, Lord in Jesus Name – Psalm 105:12-15. 

2.Father, thank You for the commencement of Your swift rescue and deliverance for our Nation, Nigeria. Be glorified, Lord in Jesus Name – Isaiah 31:5. 

3.Father, we ask that You complete Your act of judgment in our Nation against terrorism and evil leadership at all levels in this season, Lord in Jesus Name – Ezra 7:26. 

4.Father, we ask that You over-run the earth with the knowledge of Your glory through this altar as the waters cover the seas, Lord in Jesus Name – Hab. 2:14. 

5. Father, we ask that the agenda, devices and orchestration of evil against Your Church, Dunamis in this season be brought into defeat and destruction, Lord in Jesus Name – Isaiah 54:17. 

6. Father, we ask that Your mercies, compassion and faithfulness will preserve Your people and keep them in health, Lord in Jesus Name – Lam. 3:22-23.
