 HEAVEN & THE KINGDOM OF GOD [Pt 10]

When God makes a promise, He never faulters or fails, better still when He makes a Convenant, it is binding on Himself to keep it through the integrity of His Word. The promise of the establishment of a Convenant with Noah by God, was fulfilled after the flood, with the sign of a Rainbow which stands visible till date.

Genesis 9:9-13

[9]“And as for Me, behold, I establish My covenant with you and with your descendants after you,

[10]and with every living creature that is with you: the birds, the cattle, and every beast of the earth with you, of all that go out of the ark, every beast of the earth.

[11]Thus I establish My covenant with you: Never again shall all flesh be cut off by the waters of the flood; never again shall there be a flood to destroy the earth.”

[12]And God said: “This is the sign of the covenant which I make between Me and you, and every living creature that is with you, for perpetual generations:

[13]I set My rainbow in the cloud, and it shall be for the sign of the covenant between Me and the earth.

This is why God can never destroy the earth with the element of water again, because the Convenant is binding on Him and it is everlasting, hence, He is committed to keeping His word. In thesame vein, anyone who gives a prophecy that God will destroy this present earth with water, does not understand how the Convenant of God operates, hence such a fellow dispenses falsehood.

Genesis 9:16

[16]The rainbow shall be in the cloud, and I will look on it to remember the everlasting covenant between God and every living creature of all flesh that is on the earth.”

The Kingdom of God is everlasting, and for that possibility to become a reality on the earth, an everlasting Convenant had to also be in place, and the Lord sought for yet another man, in the person of Abraham.

THINGS TO NOTE:

1. The integrity of God's Convenant is in the faithfulness of God. Man's failure can impact it's manifestation, but cannot alter it's integrity.

2. God is committed to keeping His Convenant, and man must  trust in the faithfulness of God, to bring to pass His promises.

3. The Convenant of God gives men the legitimacy and authenticity of worship in relation to God.
