 THE FORGIVENESS OF SINS [ Pt 6]

Luke 5:20

[20]When He saw their faith, He said to him, “Man, your sins are forgiven you.”

In the concluding part of this series, the following points are placed for emphasis;

1. The believer in Jesus Christ is completely forgiven by God. So it's important for him or her to be aware of this, hence he or she should forgive himself or herself also. Self condemnation is a result of the lack of awareness or knowledge of God's forgiveness through Jesus Christ.

2. Without Jesus Christ, your sinful nature remains, hence you remain a sinner before God, and seperated from Him through sin. The implication is that you are subject to the Law of sin and death. Religious activities and the traditions of men cannot take away sin. Also, your morality or people's perception about you as being "good", cannot save you, because you still have in you the nature of sin. 

All outside Jesus Christ will be condemned for all eternity, because they rejected the Father's love, Who is Jesus Christ. A rejection of the gospel of Jesus Christ, is an acceptance to be judged and condemned by the Law of sin and death.

3. The forgiveness of sins is attained by a believers faith in Jesus Christ, not on his or her works or personal effort, rather on what Jesus Christ has done.

4. It does not matter who you are, where you are from, or where you are located, God is calling every man and woman to repent and accept His love in Jesus Christ, that they be saved and escape the judgement that is going to come on all sinners.

A CALL TO SALVATION:

Say this prayer;

1. Father I confess my sins before you, and ask for Your forgiveness. Wash away my sins by the blood of Jesus Christ,  in the name of Jesus Christ, amen 🙏.

2. I surrender to You, come into my life and become my Lord and Savior, in Jesus name, Amen 🙏.

3. I receive the new life in Jesus Christ; I declare with my lips and believe in my heart that I am the the righteousness of God in Jesus Christ.
