THE BELIEVER'S RIGHTEOUSNESS IN GOD [Pt 5D]
- Awe Hilary
Noah's Ark was more than a massive wooden vessel, but a typology that has the symbolism that is descriptive or foreshadows the nature of salvation in Jesus Christ. The Ark has many similitudes with our salvation in Christ, and they will be discussed below;
1. Salvation is the work of God -
John 6:44
[44]No one can come to Me unless the Father who sent Me draws him; and I will raise him up at the last day.
Noah was called into the Ark, with his family, and all animals that were selected by God (both clean and unclean). It is God that calls or have called the saved, for no one calls himself or herself unto salvation.
Genesis 7:1
[1]Then the Lord said to Noah, “Come into the ark, you and all your household, because I have seen that you are righteous before Me in this generation.
2. The Ark as a typology of Jesus Christ -
John 14:6
[6]Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me.
The Ark had only one entry, not multiples, and for Noah and all who were called to gain access into the Ark, there was only one way permissible. This is a reflection that there is only one way for the called to experience the rest of God, and that way is Jesus Christ.
Genesis 6:16
[16]You shall make a window for the ark, and you shall finish it to a cubit from above; and set the door of the ark in its side. You shall make it with lower, second, and third decks.
THINGS TO NOTE:
1. There might be a multiplicity of religions today, but there is only one way to God, and that is through Jesus Christ.
2. No one calls himself or herself unto salvation.
3. The responsibility of the called, is to accept the call, and the integrity of God is to save the called.
..... TO BE CONTINUED.
