THE BELIEVER'S RIGHTEOUSNESS IN GOD [Pt 7]

In conclusion, the believer's righteousness is a display of God's righteousness to will and to act. This infers that the man or woman who stands with God is influenced by His presence, which is a projection of the new nature in God which has been received.

1 John 2:6

[6]He who says he abides in Him ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

God does not call us unto emptiness, but to impact us with His nature and presence, for the purpose of shaping us into the conformity of His ways and acts. This He does by calling us unto Himself and leading us in the right way and direction.

Romans 8:14

[14]For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God.

Have you ever been in a position were you asked a person for direction, and he or she leads you to the place in which you seek? At that moment, you momentarily submit your will to the person, because his or her steps becomes yours; if he or she turns to the left, you also turn to the left, if he or she stops, you also stop.

This is the way those who have been called unto God should function, by surrending their will to Him who has called and be led by Him. This infers that the believer righteousness is a practice of what he or she has seen God do, or better put; a believers display of God's act and ways.

Isaiah 43:21

[21]This people I have formed for Myself; They shall declare My praise. 

THINGS TO NOTE:

1. The believer in God through Jesus Christ, has no righteousness of his own, but displays the righteousness of God through Christ.

2. The practice of righteousness by the believer is not a practice of morality, but a display of God's character which has been received and seen in God.

3. The practice of righteousness by the believer is a continuous endeavour, because he or she is continually led by God through Christ.
