Text: Matthew 20:1-16

*THE MESSAGE:*

The parable of the land owner as narrated by Jesus Christ, gives insight into the following possibilities;

1. The message of God to humanity is about the Kingdom of God and not religion.

2. God is interested in engaging you by calling you to be a partaker of His Kingdom.

3. The visitation of God is at His instance, which is irrespective of how much you would have waited.

4. There is a reward for every member of the Kingdom of God, and He who has promised is faithful to fulfill His promise.

Just like the land owner, God seeks to call people into His vineyard, that they may become active participants of His Kingdom. Moreover this opportunity unveils itself to those who are available and willing to accept the terms of the Master.

Matthew 20:2

[2]Now when he had agreed with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard.

Amos 3:3 says that two people cannot work together except they are in agreement. There were probably other labourers who were waiting at different hours but did not agree with the terms and conditions of the landowner, hence they were not chosen to become labourers in the vineyard of the land owner.

Is the Master currently beckoning on you to come into His vineyard, that He may give you what He has promised, and you are trying to negotiate on your own terms? 

Are you currently telling Him that His reward is not good enough or that you would prefer to go for alternatives?

It is time to agree with the land owner, for your reward is in His hands.

Psalms 24:1-2

[1]The earth is the Lord’s, and all its fullness, The world and those who dwell therein.

[2]For He has founded it upon the seas, And established it upon the waters.

The land owner is Jesus Christ.

The Vineyard is the Kingdom of God.

The hired labourers are the few who were chosen from the multitudes of those who were called.

Are you among the chosen or are you amongst the multitude? Jesus Christ is calling you today into His Kingdom, for He comes quickly and His reward is in His hands.

Revelation 22:12-13

[12]“And behold, I am coming quickly, and My reward is with Me, to give to every one according to his work.

[13]I am the Alpha and the Omega, the Beginning and the End, the First and the Last.”

*PRACTICAL STEPS FOR SELECTION:*

1. Agree with God today.

2. Believe in His promise, for He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him.

3. Follow His leading into the Kingdom.

4. Be diligent in your service for the Kingdom of God.

REMEMBER:

Jesus Christ is the only way to God, and no one comes unto God without Christ.
