GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS

 GOD WORKS IN MYSTERIOUS WAYS

Today my unit in church proceeded for our monthly evangelistic outreach, and we visited a local community called ANGWAN YELLOW/TARSHA. We scheduled to preach and also to minister to the people the welfare packages we came with.

However, in our usual fashion we break the group into a set of two's ( male and female) so that we can cover much ground, and assemble back together at a designated place and time.

During the course of our ministration, we came across a set of young men about six (6) in number, who were seated together and discussing. The sister who was with me asked if we should talk to them, and I responded to her in the affirmative.

When we approached them and greeted them, one of the young men who was in black, took offence and spoke a street language to the guys he was with, that they should discharge us, and asking " wetin Dem wan talk". The young man started talking and covered his ear with his ear piece. One of the young men was pleading with him to calm down, so they could hear us out.

I greeted again, and told them we came in peace and we came with the message of Jesus Christ. In order to communicate effectively, I switched to street communication, and I think they were surprised, because they were not expecting that. In a few minutes of ministration, a street slang came out from my mouth, and the young man who did not want to listen to us, shouted and said " Omo this man dey call my name". That was when I knew that what came out from my mouth was his street name. While he continued in excitement, I said God dey, he shouted again, that is my name, and showed me were he tattooed his name on his hand.

To our greatest surprise, he gave us his undivided attention, and while we continued our ministration, the young man was filled with Joy, and asked the shop beside us to get us two cans of Malta drink, and he insisted that we must take it, which the sister with me wrapped and kept with her.

The young man said to me, "Bros, we done meet many people wey dey come preach here, but Dem dey look us like bad people, Dem go dey condemn us, but you no come like that". That was when we knew why he resisted at first. We gave them tracts and prayed for them to the glory of God, and we are confident that God will work on them, and draw them to the fulfilment of His perfect will for their lives.

We are not sent to condemn people but to preach God's love to them, because God is still interested in the salvation of the worst sinner.

Blessings.
