*TITLE:* OPEN THE DOOR FOR THE LORD

*TEXT:* Revelation 3:20

*THE MESSAGE*

Religion has engaged men and women in the flesh, while the doors to their lives have been shut against the Lord.

Yes! The doors to their lives have been shut against the Lord. While physical attendance to religious functions have increased, the Lord is saying to them;  can you hear Me? Open up!

Revelation 3:20

[20]Behold, I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and dine with him, and he with Me.

This interestingly is not limited to the unbelieving community, but acclaimed believers in Jesus Christ, who profess faith with their mouths, but no fruits of intimacy with the Lord. 

On a particular occasion, someone shared a story with me of a pastor who worked in an office in their state, and whenever monies were successfully embezzled in the office, his co conspirators will ask him to pray in the meeting where the sharing of the looted funds will be done.

In today world, it is becoming increasingly difficult to differentiate believers from unbelievers because the identity of the world is becoming more visible in the lives of many, which should not be so. The other day at the train station, I couldn't look at some sisters because they were half naked, hence everything that was meant to be concealed was put on display.

The Lord is not happy and He reminds us today about His message and warning to the Laodicean Church ;

Revelation 3:14-16

[14]“And to the angel of the church of the Laodiceans write, ‘These things says the Amen, the Faithful and True Witness, the Beginning of the creation of God:

[15]“I know your works, that you are neither cold nor hot. I could wish you were cold or hot.

[16]So then, because you are lukewarm, and neither cold nor hot, I will vomit you out of My mouth.

WHY YOU HAVE TO OPEN THE DOOR TO YOUR  LIFE FOR THE LORD

1. The Lord's emphasis is on relationship and not religion. It is the intimacy of relationship with the Lord that makes a good religion.

2. A closed door against the Lord, is a life denied of the things of the Spirit, which drives the wills and actions of the believer. You become lukewarm when you stop dining with the Lord. 

3.The plans and will of the Lord is made known to those who dine with Him. You are behaving like those in the world, and allowing the world to influence you, because you lack the intimacy with the Lord to know what is acceptable or not permitted before Him.

4. You are made complete in the Lord, when the door of your life is opened unto Him.

PRACTICAL STEPS TO THE OPENING OF THE DOOR TO THE LORD

1. Recognize who you are in Jesus Christ. If you do not know who you are in Christ, the world will define you.

2. Yield completely to the Holy Spirit, be attentive to His voice and promptings.

3. Let go of any form of hindrances that pollute your sense of sound judgement. Anything or anyone occupying the dining table of your life, has to be cast out for the King of Glory to come in.

4. Make up your mind to maintain the environment of intimacy with the Lord. Treasure it with all your heart, and let it become a priority for your existence.

PRAYER:

1. I renounce and reject any voice hindering me from opening the door of my life unto the Lord, in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

2. I rebuke and cast out any presence in my life that has taken the place of the Lord in my life, in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

3. Lord I need You, come into my life and dine with me, in the name of Jesus Christ.

4. Lord, give me a teachable heart, and give me the grace to learn Your ways, in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

REMEMBER:

Your Faith experience in Jesus Christ is not complete untill you open up the door to your life.
