 DECIDE TO KNOW GOD

God knew us first before we were conceived and born into this world, but it is our responsibility to become conscious of Him who created us, and to walk with Him.

Jeremiah 1:5 (NLT)

I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. Before you were born I set you apart and appointed you as my prophet to the nations.

Amos 3:3 ( NLT)

Can two people walk together without agreeing on the direction.

While it is true that God knew us first, we must grow into the consciousness of who He is, and agree to walk with Him in the direction He is going. God is moving in a particular direction, and we would only have the privilege to walk with Him, when we agree to go where He is going.

What are the implications of making the decision to know God?

1. THE REALITY OF HIS LORDSHIP BECOMES EVIDENT IN OUR LIVES.

A man or woman who makes the decision to know God, is one who has come into the realm of intimacy with Him, were he or she submits to the government of God. This infers that God's will, plan and purposes take pre-eminence over his or life.

Romans 8:14 (NLT)

For all who are led by the Spirit of God are the children of God.

In other words, those who are brought under the Lordship, and government of God are His children. In Romans 8:15, the bible says;

"So you have not received a spirit that makes you fearful slaves. Instead you received God's Spirit when He adopted you as his own children. Now we call him Abba Father".

A believer in Christ is one who has received the Spirit of God, through whom he or she is led. 

2. WE DISCOVER OURSELVES IN GOD

God is the manufacturer of mankind, and He knows us more than we think we know ourselves, because every fabric of our existence was engineered and crafted by Him.

Isaiah 45:9 (NLT)

What sorrow awaits those who argue with their Creator. Does a clay pot argue with it's maker? Does the clay dispute with one who shapes it, saying, stop, you are doing it wrong! Does the pot exclaim, 'How clumsy can you be?

The Lord said to Jeremiah, I knew you before I formed you in your mother's womb. This statement can be literally translated as; I thought about you and what I will make out of you, and when I decided to make you, I made you to be what I desire of you. So in essence, God was telling Jeremiah, that I made you a prophet and that is who you are.

Moreover, when we do not come into the place of intimacy with God, we would not discover who we truly are, and this has led many people to created destines outside their ordination. This leads to a futility in existence.

3. WE BECOME USEFUL IN THE HANDS OF GOD.

People who are useful in the hands of God are those who are led by Him, and those who are led by Him, are those who fulfill the purposes of God for their lives.

Philippians 2:13 (NLT)

For God is working in you, giving you the desire and power to do what pleases Him.

A man or woman who is useful in the hands of God is one that allows God to work through him or her. This infers that he or she is in agreement with God, for Him to take the lead.

I pray for you that you will agree with God in all matters that concerns your life, Jesus name, amen🙏. 

Remember that two people cannot work together except they are in agreement. Imagine Prophet Jeremiah a mechanic or a bricklayer, or imagine Prophet Jeremiah after being told by God about his prophetic ordination, still goes ahead to disagree with God with respect to his ordination. In such instance, can he become useful in the hands of God with respect to his ordination? The answer is no! He might do well in another field, but he will become useless in the hands of God.

This is why we must redefine what success really means, because being successful is being useful in the hands of God, in accomplishing the plans and purposes of God with respect to our ordination. This is not to say that all men must become pastors or open a branch, but we must discover what God has called us to in the earth.

WHAT ARE THE STEPS THAT AID OUR DECISION IN KNOWING GOD?

1. We must acknowledge God as Lord and savior in our lives.

2. We must make up our mind to agree with God on all matters as it concerns our life and destiny.

3. We must shun all acts of rebellion against God.

4. We must make up our minds to become who God wants us to be, by not letting go of His hands as He leads us.

PRAYERS:

1. Father give me the grace to make you Lord over my life, in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

2. Lord destroy anything contending with your leadership over my life in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

3. Lord imbibe in us the spirit of humility, in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

4. Father enable us to know you more in Jesus name, amen 🙏.

5. Father, let your word take pre- eminence in our lives that we may be doers and not just hearers of your word.

6. Lord lead your fellowship in your light, and let us be submissive to your government in Jesus name, amen 🙏.
